Bell's Crossing Elementary Receives 2009 Palmetto's Finest Award

Bell's Crossing Elementary School, one of the original Carolina First Center for Excellence schools, recently received the 2009 Palmetto's Finest award. Bell's Crossing Elementary School is an avid user of Continous Quality Improvement in the classroom and school organization.

Palmetto's Finest is a statewide award that was begun in 1978. Every spring, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) recognizes a few outstanding schools that offer excellent instruction and outstanding leaders, augmented by strong family and community involvement and a supportive business community. Winning this award involves a rigorous selection process, including a comprehensive review of a school's program, focusing on the impact is the school makes on the lives of students and the community. This year there were 16 finalists and only five schools to receive this high recognition, announced last week in Columbia.
