Ellen Woodside Elementary captures hearts at SC Quality Conference
The South Carolina Governor's Quality Award recognizes organizations achieving excellent performance in developing, implementing, and deploying a quality management system based on the Baldrige Criteria.
The 2009 Governor's Quality Award Conference, held in Columbia recently, featured CFCE Partner School, Ellen Woodside Elementary. Principal Stephanie Reece shared with the audience their focused efforts in Continuous Quality Improvement and the positive impact that this focus is having on student achievement and developing a culture where students show ownership and accountability for their learning.
Accompanying Principal Reese at the conference was Assistant Principal Delaney Sutton, Instructional Coach Margaret House and two students who stole the hearts of conference participants. Fourth grader, Jacob House, and fifth grader, Parker Sutton shared their personal journey of creating mission statements with their classes, goal setting, and tracking their individual data in their data notebooks.
