Gateway Elementary . . . Career Education Week and Lotus Diagrams

This year at Gateway Elementary, Guidance Counselor Cindy Howard decided to get the teachers involved in Career Education Week! Teachers participated in a variety of activities throughout the week as they shared personal information about becoming a teacher. For one activity, teachers were asked to think about what job/career they would like to have if they had chosen to become something other than a teacher. They were asked to create a poster to feature the "other" career.


Teachers used the poster to discuss career options they considered other than teaching. Third grade teacher Misty Sammons used a lotus diagram to illustrate and describe that she might have been a social worker if she had decided to do something other than teaching. Of course, Misty loves teaching, and she evidently loves using Quality Tools as well!
